PANAJI: Taj Cidade de Goa and Fundação Oriente in India, in association with the Department of Art & Culture, Government of Goa, have announced the first edition of Bal Kala Tarang – Indian Classical Competition, aimed at promoting classical arts among the youth of Goa.

The competition will provide a platform for young participants to showcase their talent in three categories: classical singing, classical instrumental music, and classical dance. The event will be held in two stages—selections followed by finals. There will be two age groups in all three categories: 12 to 15 years and 16 to 22 years.

Organisers said the initiative seeks to encourage young talent and preserve India’s classical art traditions by engaging the next generation of performers. Interested participants can request rules and registration forms via email at balkalatarang2026@gmail.com. The last date for submitting entry forms along with performance videos is July 23, 2026.
