PANAJI: The Central Bank of India’s Chodan Branch organised a Re-KYC and Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign at the Chodan-Madel Gram Panchayat on Friday. The event was attended by Reserve Bank of India Regional Director Prabhakar Jha, Deputy General Manager Krishna Kumar, North Goa Lead District Manager Gopal Kerkar, retired principal of Dayanand High School Premanand Mahambare, Chodan-Madel Sarpanch Ramakant Priolkar, and Central Bank of India Regional Head (Panaji) Olivia Pereira. Officers from other banks also joined the programme. Banks including Canara Bank, State Bank of India and HDFC Bank, along with representatives of the Dhan Foundation, participated in the campaign which drew over 100 customers.
Pereira addressed the gathering and explained the benefits of government schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana. She also highlighted the importance of re-KYC, digital banking services, Jan Dhan Yojana accounts, cybercrime awareness, grievance redressal mechanisms and the operation of dormant accounts. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Mahambare was felicitated with a plant and shawl. Several re-KYC updates and fresh enrolments under social security schemes were completed during the programme.
