‘Makers and Materials: Goa Past and Present’, curated by Leandre D’Souza and Dr Kelli Wood, is now open to the public at Sunaparanta. Presented in partnership with the University of Tennessee, Fulbright India, the Italian Art Society and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, the exhibition explores Goa’s material and visual heritage by linking long-standing craft traditions with the work of contemporary Indian makers.

Featuring sculpture, textiles, photography, multimedia installations and text-driven works, the exhibition considers how materials hold memory and how history is embedded in wood, cloth and metal. It reaffirms Goa’s position as a centre of artistic knowledge and innovation shaped by centuries of exchange across Asia, Africa, Europe and South America.
