Portuguese song contest 'Vem Cantar' finals today at KA

The finals of the Portuguese song contest ‘Vem Cantar’ organised by the Fundação Oriente in India and the heritage cell of the Rosary College, Navelim will be held at Kala Academy on September 28 at 5 pm. The contestants are required to sing songs with lyrics originally written in the Portuguese language. The organisers had released a list with song suggestions in Portuguese however the participants are not obligated to follow the songs mentioned in the list provided. The singing of Fado will be allowed again this year. The contest is not open to professional singers. The contest will be conducted in two categories – solos and groups. The Solo Singing Competition will be in three age groups. For the Group Singing Competition there is no age limit. There are three prizes in each category – first, second and consolation.  All the solo participants will receive a certificate of participation and all the groups will receive a certificate of participation. The Finals of the 2025 edition of Vem Cantar will be delivered in an on-stage format.
