St Thomas Parish Aldona on the occasion of the feast of Christ the King held a special programme titled 'Sonvskrutayecho Utsov' to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of a motherland as part of the jubilee of culture. An exhibition was held depicting the traditional occupations of Goa. The exhibition included sale of items associated with the traditional occupations. It was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Fr Joaquim Fernandes, SVD Episcopal Vicar for the Religious. ‘Sweet voices of St. Thomas’ children's choir presented a choral song 'Mannik Udentichem’ composed by Fr. Tomas Lobo. Catechist Sandhya Fernandes was the compere for the inaugural function. The climax of the Jubilee of Culture was the Parish Manddo Festival held in the evening coinciding with the Jubilee of Choirs celebrated in our Archdiocese and presented by the different Somudais of the parish. Fr Jose Silveira SJ, Superior of St Britto High School, Mapusa was the Chief Guest. PPC Moderator Ronald Victoria proposed the vote of thanks. Jonas Correia and Maria DCruz compered the Manddo festival.
