Revenue Minister, Atanasio Monserrate said that the names for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) will be announced by tomorrow.
Speaking to the media today, Monserrate stated that discussions had already been held with the state party president. “I have already discussed the matter with the party president, and the names will be declared by tomorrow,” he said.
The CCP elections were held on March 11, in which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a massive victory. The BJP-backed “Babush” panel dominated the polls, winning 27 out of 30 wards and decisively defeating the Ami Panaji panel.
The counting of votes was conducted on March 13 at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium.
