I held as tobacco products sold near Vasco school

The Maina Curtorim police has conducted a raid on a general store located in the vicinity of a college at Nuvem and seized 55 packets of cigarettes of different brands, 108 packets of Vimal gutka nd 262 packets of V-1 gutka. The police said the store was allegedly found selling cigarettes and tabacco products in an area within a radius of one hundred yard of educational institution, thus violating section 6 of Cigarettes and other tobacco products of the Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of trade and commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution Act , 2003.
Meanwhile, Vasco police conducted a raid at a kiosk located within 100 metres of St Andrew’s School and seized tobacco products worth Rs 7,675. During the raid, police apprehended 20-year-old Mainuddin Hullatti of New Vaddem, who was allegedly found selling the prohibited items in the school vicinity.
Vasco police have reiterated that strict action will be taken against anyone found violating the ban on the sale of tobacco products near educational institutions.
