Congress Party on Saturday ridiculed the ruling BJP government that boasts aloud about development works carried out through its double engine Sarkar by exposing the substandard work along the recently inaugurated Western Bypass road from Navelim to Seraulim.
Congress leaders stated that the bypass road was inaugurated with much fanfare on December 23, 2024, claiming the entire stretch has come under strain within six months, either getting washed away or has sunk considerably leaving depressions that could prove fatal.
Lincoln Gomes stated that if one drives along this road by car, you can actually experience how the whole car wobbles due to the depressions and uneven condition of the road; and therefore realize how risky this road has turned out to be for 2 wheeler riders.
The lack of Street lights along the bypass road is another headache for travellers at night. Coutinho demanded to know from the government as to why the contractor who has installed the Street lighting is not pulled up for the malfunctioning of the system.
Coutinho demanded that the PWD department should immediately get the road repaired, warning that failure of which the government itself shall give the Congress party an opportunity to celebrate Vanamohatsav along the bypass road.
