PANAJI: Amidst the heavy crowds along Goa’s coastline over the Eid weekend, Drishti Marine lifesavers sprang into action multiple times, successfully rescuing three youths from drowning and tracing several missing individuals.
A 12-year-old boy from a Maharashtra tourist group went missing at Calangute Beach yesterday. His family searched the beach without success before contacting the on-duty Drishti Marine lifesavers. Acting swiftly, the team circulated a digital image of the boy on their WhatsApp groups and launched a thorough search. The boy was eventually located and handed safely back to his parents following proper identification protocols.
At Colva Beach, an eight-year-old girl and two missing women were traced and safely returned to their families. Additionally, three youths aged 17 to 22 were rescued from strong waves after wading into waist-deep water.
