A car accident took place on the Margao western bypass on Sunday evening, on the elevated section of the road.
The driver had a lucky escape, though the car was badly damaged.
The vehicle crossed the divider and hit an electric pole with such force that the pole was uprooted.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident. The driver claimed that the steering wheel got locked, which caused the car to swerve onto the other lane.
Meanwhile, there was confusion over whether the accident site falls under Colva or Fatorda police station, as officers debated jurisdiction.
