Gandhi Shilp Bazaar, an exhibition featuring exclusive tribal handicrafts from across India, will be inaugurated at the hands of Chief Guest, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Sadanand Shet Tanavade in the presence of Deeptanshu Haldar, Regional Director, Western Regional Office of DC (Handicrafts) and Sagun Velip, Director, Department of Handicrafts, Textiles and Coir, Government of Goa on Sunday March 15, at 2.30pm.
The exhibition will be held from March 15 to March 24 at the International Centre Goa, Dona Paula, and will remain open daily from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Organised by the Assam State Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd., Guwahati, under the National Handicrafts Development Program (NHDP) of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, the event celebrates the diversity of India’s traditional craft heritage.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore and purchase authentic and exclusive Tribal handmade creations such as Gond paintings, Moonj craft, Mekhala Chador, Bastar Dokra, Meghalaya wood craft, and Banjara embroidery, representing artisans from different parts of the country. Around 70 artisans, mainly from the North Eastern region, will participate alongside other craftspersons to showcase their traditional skills and cultural heritage.
