After Hyderabad police, it is now the turn of its counterparts in Goa to cross the geographical boundary for an investigation into a drug bust.
The case pertains to the arrest of a Secundrabad (Hyderabad-Telangana) youth Yeshwant Reddy who on Tuesday was caught red-handed peddling MDMA in the coastal village of Siolim.
His interrogation revealed the names of four traffickers from Hyderabad, who reportedly supplied the synthetic contraband to Reddy during his trip to Goa.
The alleged peddler was remanded to 7 days of police custody by JMFC Mapusa.
The Crime Branch (CB) team has now decided to visit Hyderabad as it intends to extend the jurisdiction of its investigation in the case. "We are coordinating with the Hyderabad police to assist us in the probe. Our team is shortly leaving for Hyderabad," SP Nidhin Valsan told The Goan. This is the second case, in the recent past, wherein a Hyderabad native is caught peddling drugs in Goa,
The soon-to-be visit to Telangana comes against the backdrop of Hyderabad City Police's repeated attempts to track down Goan drug peddlers and dealers involved in an inter-state drug ring.
Anjuna locals Pritesh Borkar and John Stephen D'Souza are already in custody there while the neighbouring police are making desperate attempts to arrest the absconding Curlies' alleged owner Edwin Nunes.
