Goa recorded its highest 103.8mm single-day rainfall for this month of the monsoon season on Friday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa has issued an Orange alert for the State till June 16, warning of very heavy rainfall at isolated places and heavy rainfall at a few locations.
The alert will change to Yellow for the following three days, indicating the likelihood of heavy showers at isolated places.
As per the IMD, monsoon activity this month has been subdued so far with 242.4mm "actual" rainfall as against the "normal" 288.4mm.
While temperatures have dipped, forecasts for the next 24 to 48 hours indicate intermittent to heavy spells of rain. The IMD recorded a maximum of 27°C and a minimum of 24°C across the State on Friday.
