A local court on Tuesday remanded businessman and politician Rohan Harmalkar, along with three others, to 14 days of judicial custody in connection with an assault case.
The Anjuna police reported that the incident involved around 10 to 15 individuals, though no additional arrests have been made yet.
The assault, which took place on Sunday evening, targeted Surender Kumar Singh, a resident of Haryana.
Singh alleged that he was slapped, punched and subjected to verbal abuse and death threats during the altercation, resulting in serious injuries, including damage to his left eye.
Sources suggest the attack may be linked to a property dispute between Singh and Harmalkar’s group.
The police are investigating the matter further.
The case has drawn public attention due to Harmalkar’s political background, with calls for a thorough probe into the motives behind the incident.
