A 56-year-old rider from Korgao-Pernem died in a self-inflicted accident near the Jivottam Muth in Porvorim late Monday night.
The accident took place at around 11.35 pm as Keshav Kashiram Shetye was proceeding towards Mapusa on a two-wheeler. On the way, he lost control of the two-wheeler near Jivottam Muth and fell on the road.
The rider was seriously injured in the accident. He was shifted to nearby RG Hospital and was later referred to the GMC hospital at Bambolim, where he died while undergoing treatment.
On receiving news of the incident, a Porvorim police team went to the spot and conducted a panchnama. Police Sub-Inspector Akash Chodankar is conducting further investigation.
