The Margao police has registered a case of cheating after a resident of Aquem-Margao complained that a native of Maharashtra, claiming to be a meat supplier in India Mart website, dishonestly induced him to transfer an amount of Rs 1.14 lakh via UPI.
The complainant Ismail Munshi, resident of Aquem, complained that between June 16, 2025 to June 19, 2025, the accused person Mazhar Alam Shaikh, native of Mumbai-Maharashtra, who claimed to be a meat supplier in India Mart website, dishonestly induced the complainant to transfer an amount of Rs 1,14,000/- via UPI, in three different transactions on the pretext of supplying buffalo meat and failed to supply the same, thereby cheated the complainant.
A case under section 318(4) BNS has been registered against the accused.
