A 22-year old boy from Margao allegedly committed suicide by hanging at Mobor on Tuesday.
Colva police said the incident occurred when the boy along with his 20-year female friend had gone to Mobor beach.
Colva police station in-charge, PI Ritesh Tari has suspected that the boy and girl were friendly, but the relationship was opposed by the boy’s relatives.
PI Tari stated that preliminary inquiry has revealed that the boy used a nylon rope to commit suicide by hanging.
To a question, PI Tari informed that the boy allegedly told the girl that he was putting a swing on the tree before he used the rope to end his life.
To another question, the PI said preliminary investigation has revealed the boy’s family were opposed to the relationship with the girl.
The police is conducting further investigations.
