Plans are afoot to formulate 20-year master plans for the towns of Margao, Ponda and Valpoi and the State government has sought bids from qualified consultants to help make them.
A tender floated by the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA) has sought bids for providing consultancy services related to the work of preparing these 'master plans 2041' for these three towns.
These master plans, for the jurisdictions of the municipal councils of these three towns are to be formulated within six months, according to the tender floated by GSUDA.
The terms of the consultant's work require the bidders to conduct drone topographic surveys of the areas, identify utilities and formulate the master plans for these three towns by carrying out detailed site analysis and all other requisite groundwork.
The integrated smart city plan includes a transportation and circulation plan, road networks, accesses to water-fronts and marinas, landscape character zones, amenities and programming, landscape framework plan including open spaces.
Habitat and ecology preservation plan, utility framework plan, innovative carbon neutral strategies for energy, materials, water and waste among others are some of the features mentioned in the tender as requisites for the final plans.
GSUDA is a special purpose vehicle under the Urban Development Ministry held by TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane.
