The Late Chandrakant Keni Journalist Award, which is given to a veteran journalist who has contributed to the upliftment of the state of Goa, will be conferred upon veteran journalist and columnist Pramod Prabhugaonkar, who has been active in Goan journalism for the last 48 years.
The award-giving ceremony will be held on November 26 in Margao at a function organised to celebrate the 89th Birth Anniversary of the late Keni, who was a great writer and journalist and always fought for the cause of Goa throughout his life.
The award is being given to the Goan journalist, who is carrying the legacy of the late Keni. Earlier, the award was conferred on veteran journalists Suresh Walve and Advt Uday Bhembre.
Pramod Prabhugaonkar started his journalism career in 1975 with Daily Rashtramat under the editorship of the late Keni. He also worked with Daily Sunaparant, Daily Goa Doot, Daily Lokmat and Daily Gomantak. His work has been appreciated and honoured by 18th June Trust, Goa Union of Journalists, Goa Marathi Patrakar Sangh, Canacona Patrakar Sangh and Margao Lions Club.
