The gram sabha of the village Panchayat of Raia on Sunday has opposed a proposal for change in zone of a property in the village.
The issue of tenants verification also figured at the gram sabha with members demanding verification of the tenants staying in the village.
At the meeting chaired by sarpanch Mario D’Souza, gram sabha members opposed the proposal for change in zone of a property to industrial.
The Sarpanch informed that he had placed the proposal at the gram sabha meeting for the members to take a decision.
He said the property owner had applied for change in zone of the property into industrial, which found no favour with the gram sabha members.
He said members also raised the issue of flooding at the Arlem circle and also at Manora, adding that the members were informed about the steps initiated by the panchayat to address and mitigate the issue.
