Mandrem Police arrested a youth from Bastora but residing at Agarwada-Pernem on charges of brutally attacking his mother on Sunday evening. The woman, Sushma Kalangutkar, has sustained grievous injuries and is admitted at GMC hospital in Bambolim.
In her complaint, Sushma (50) stated that the incident took place between 3 pm and 6 pm when her son, Chandrashekhar Patil @ Sanju (25) began abusing her over a personal issue.
He is then accused of threatening her with dire consequences and attacking her with a koita, causing her grievous injuries.
Acting on the complaint, Mandrem police arrested Chandrashekhar on Monday morning under sections sections 352, 351, (3) and 109 of BNS. Further investigation is underway.
