It was a moment of pride for Goa's Angela Rajan Naik to represent India, as she made history for becoming the first Indian female inductee and receiving the most prestigious 'Lifetime achievement award' at the hands of President, Grand Master Gerard Robbins, 9th Dan-of the Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame, at the grand induction ceremony held at Esplanade Luxury Hotel,Zagreb, Croatia recently.
Grand Master PA Gurung from India was also inducted as 'Father of Taekwondo in India', the award, accepted on his behalf by his son.
Angela received the honor in the presence of many other amazing Taekwondo Champions and Pioneers of the Art, who were also recipients of The Lifetime Achievement Awards. Aaron Cook, Maldovo, received the 'World Taekwondo Player of the Year', whereas his coach (brother) Luke Cook,received the 'Outstanding Coach of the Year Award'.
Citations were also presented to Outstanding Players in the field of Taekwondo.
Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame is the highest honor in the Martial Arts/Olympic sport of Taekwondo. All the recipients of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awardees were presented with the official Taekwondo Hall of Fame Rings, with the honorees initials and HOF Membership. Prior to the Induction ceremony, all honorees met at the Cocktail - Meet and Greet.It was the most prestigious ceremony in the history of taekwondo. The motto of Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame - No politics only honour - tribute to the highest level of Taekwondo.
