Actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will be adding to their brood of six by adopting a Syrian orphan.
Angelina's work with the United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees has taken her to refugee camps in Turkey and in April, she criticized the United Nations Security Council for failing to do enough about the four-year conflict in Syria.
On one of her trips, she met three Syrian brothers who were orphaned after their father was taken away by soldiers and their mother killed in a bombing and wanted to adopt all three but after husband Brad raised concerns about how it would affect their six children, decided to adopt just one.
"It has been a very long process. The red tape has been almost impossible. It could take at least another four to five months before the child is brought to the United States," said the source. Three of Angelina and Brad's six children together are adopted - sons Maddox and Pax from Cambodia and Vietnam, and eldest daughter Zahara from Ethopia. Their biological children - Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne - are the youngest of the brood.
Angelina and Brad married in a private ceremony in November last year.
