Goa’s Arjuna awardee Bruno Coutinho has been repatriated to Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) after having a brief stint at the Goa Football Development Council (GFDC).
“Bruno has gone back to SAG as Joint Director of Sports vide a government order received a few days back,” stated GFDC executive secretary Glen D’Silva.
“Bruno has been repatriated since yesterday (September 8)," Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) Director of Administration Pravin Volvoikar told The Goan.
Bruno Coutinho starred as a footballer since his days with Salgaocar Sports Club. He first captained India in 2000 and led the Indian team, as its most prolific striker, from 1993 to 2000. He was awarded the Arjuna award in football in 2001.
Bruno was appointed as Joint Director of coaching by SAG thereafter, and has been holding fort ever since-except for his brief sojourn with GFDC where he marshalled the functioning of their centres.
