The Goa Women’s Forum (GWF) has taken objection to the proposed programme ‘Tales of Kamasutra & Christmas Celebration’ to be held in Goa from December 25 to 28 and has demanded action from the Department of Tourism.

In a letter addressed to the Director Department of Tourism, Kedar Naik, GWF convenor Lorna Fernandes has strongly condemned this type of activity being promoted in Goa as it will project Goa as ‘sex tourism destination’ and severely affect the image of Goa as a family tourist destination.

The letter further states, “We seek your immediate intervention by filing an FIR with Goa Police, launch a full-fledged investigation to determine the antecedents of this “Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh Foundation” and identify the venue for this proposed programme which is collecting a contribution of Rs 24,995 for stay and food.”

Copies of the GWF letter have been sent to the Chief Secretary, District Collectors, SPs of Goa Police, Goa State Commission for Women chief and ARZ director.
