Colva police track suspect through mobile CDR

In a major breakthrough in the thefts reported in a starred resort at Benaulim, the Colva police have arrested accused Kasim Fayaz from his native state at Udupi-Karnataka.
Colva Police station in-charge, PI Vikram Naik informed that the accused was arrested from his native state through CDR Locations of his mobile number.
After his arrest, the accused person disclosed the name of the goldsmith with whom he had disposed of the stolen gold items.
The incident had occurred on October 21 at a starred resort when the accused person trespassed into the hotel property and spa at Benaulim and thereafter entered into a room through the balcony and committed theft of gold Rudraksh mala worth Rs 2 lakh, which was kept on the table of the living room, besides cash of Rs 40,000. Thereafter, the accused also entered into another room through the balcony occupied by another guest and committed theft of Rs 80,000.
Incidentally, the Colva police have informed that the accused was allegedly involved in similar theft cases reported in the starred hotels in the recent past.
