Jaya Prada eyes Children’s Film Academy in Goa

Actress and politician Jaya Prada has announced plans to establish a Children's Film Academy in Goa, highlighting the State's rich heritage of natural beauty, art, and culture as the ideal backdrop for nurturing young talent.

After visiting the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao on Tuesday, Jaya Prada said the institution is the temple of art and culture, where culture is being showcased by artists through programmes.

Accompanied by former Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar, Jaya Prada said she is on a visit to Goa to pursue her film projects in the State. Saying that she has a plan to set up a film academy in Goa for the children, Jaya Prada said she is looking forward for support from Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, former Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar and others to make the project a reality.

Saying that she feels privileged to visit the Ravindra Bhavan and interact with the people, she said the institution is indeed the temple of art and culture.

Asked to comment on the functioning of the BJP government, she said the BJP working at the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Goa under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant are working on the ground for the benefit of the people. 

“Under the leadership of Pramod Sawant, Goa has witnessed all round development, Goa is one state where there is no fear amongst the people from walking alone. I like this place and the place is known for beauty and art and culture. Besides natural beauty, the real beauty lies in the hearts of people of Goa”, she added.
