The Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-Operative Society, which was founded by Kiran Thakur along with likeminded and dedicated associates on August 31, 1995, will be observing its 26th anniversary on Tuesday.

The society was started with a basic objective of providing financial support and economic stability to local businesses and families.

From a single branch, the society has grown to 213+ branches in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa and Delhi, with collective deposits of over Rs 5,500 crore.

“The Lokmanya Group has now forayed into various other sectors and is involved in education, hospitality, real estate, healthcare and insurance. The society also offers customer oriented services like safe deposit locker vaults, healthcare, life insurance, general insurance, foreign exchange, etc. Soon, gold loans will also be launched,” said Thakur.

“With good wishes and cooperation of the people, we assure of continued and consistent safety, transparency, trust and professional services always.”

Lokmanya Society has also taken up social responsibility at all levels and has set an example in the field of corporate social responsibility.

“Under the banner of Loka Kalpa Foundation, the society has adopted 32 remote villages in Kanakumbi and Jamboti forest areas. Education, employment and health services are provided in these villages,” said CEO Abhijeet Dixit.

“We are always in the forefront to provide help and aid during floods and other natural calamities in Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra and other states. During the Covid pandemic, we provided ambulance and hearse van services to needy patients, generously donated to PM Care and CM Care funds and helped various NGOs in serving humanity,” Dixit added.
