A container turned turtle on NH 66 near St Sebastian Chapel at Dandeavaddo-Chinchinim on Friday.
The incident is believed to have occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle near a turn.
No one was injured in the accident, but the incident has raised concerns among local residents over the movement of heavy vehicles on the national highway.
Former Chinchinim Sarpanch Valentino Barretto said that speeding by heavy vehicles on NH 66 is a regular issue due to a lack of enforcement by authorities.
“The PWD has installed rumblers at the Dandeavaddo junction, but they have become a nuisance for nearby residents, as speeding heavy vehicles on the highway cause noise pollution,” he said.
Barretto expressed hope that the authorities would take note of the incident and act against speeding vehicles.
