In 2005 when Anita Fernandes a young teenager from Carmona in Salcette made her debut as a substitute in Menino Mario’s tiatr ‘Sakrament’ in the role of a college girl, little did she know that in a few years time she would be a much sought after artiste.
Since Anita was still studying, she took a break fromfurther stage assignments. However the love for Konkani stage beckoned her backin Prince Jacob’s tiatr ‘Rojea’in 2007. “It was Prince Jacob who inspired me toplay the role of a comedienne in his tiatr ‘Rojea’. He taught me the basics andinstilled a lot of confidence in me, if at all I am now a full time comedienne,the sole credit goes to Prince Jacob alone,” she admits with a smile.
