More than 350 participants from the wellness, tourism and hospitality sectors came together at the Radisson Blu Resort in Cavelossim for the Yoga Mahotsav, organised by the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI). The event was part of the 100-day countdown to International Day of Yoga and was held with support from the Ministry of AYUSH and the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga.

This marked the 42nd day of the countdown and featured a live demonstration of the Common Yoga Protocol by Dr Joy Pereira, a Master Yoga Trainer accredited by the Ministry of AYUSH. Dr Pereira explained the benefits of various yoga practices, which were followed by the participants.

Welcoming attendees, Vishal Pathak, Corporate General Manager of Radisson Blu Resort, said Goa’s natural beauty made it an ideal setting for wellness and yoga tourism.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Narvekar, Deputy General Manager – Marketing (Hotels) and PRO of Goa Tourism Development Corporation, said, “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Minister for Tourism Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, Goa is promoting natural locations beyond beaches and encouraging regenerative and hinterland tourism with a strong focus on yoga and wellness.”

Dr Mickey Mehta, CMD of Healdhee Pvt. Ltd., highlighted Goa’s increasing interest in wellness, calling yoga “an eternal science” that strengthens immunity and consciousness.

In her concluding remarks, Trupti Pawar, Secretary General of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI), said, “The hospitality industry is evolving into a wellness hub, with yoga at its core. We are thankful to the Ministry of AYUSH and the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga for their support.”
