Laurel Lance

After teasing fans with shots of a grave right from it's first episode of season 4, the show finally revealed the identity of the person in it. After being betrayed by Detective Lance and after his powers being restored Damien Darhk took revenge by killing Laurel. And fans are still getting over it. In fact her friends and family are not over it as yet. Detective Lance has been an alcoholic mess ever since and Oliver Queen aka The Arrow can't seem to stop blaming himself for being unable to protect her. This was especially evident in Season 5 when it appeared that The Black Canary had returned and Oliver was all but ready to accept the lookalike's explanation as to how she was alive. However Laurel is till dead, shattering hopes everywhere.

Matthew Crawley

First they went and killed off, one of the show's favorites- the forward thinking and rebellious Lady Sybil. But as if that wasn't enough, the cruel showrunners of Downton Abbey decided to torture fans even further by doing away with another beloved character – Mathew Crawley. After seasons of watching Mathew and Lady Mary flirt with each other, fans rejoiced when they finally tied the knot. But the happily ever after didn't last for long in Lady Mary's case. After finding out that he is a dad, Mathew is killed in a car crash, leaving not just his wife, but fans everywhere in mourning. Dan Stevens who played the character later admitted that he has to apologise almost everyday when he meets upset fans. Serves him right!

Dr Derek Shepherd

Yes, it's been two seasons since the shocking death of Mcdreamy aka Dr Derek Shepherd, but no one seems even close to getting over it. Shepherd was one of the main characters of Greys Anatomy and his love story with Meredith Grey was a key focus in the show. And what a way to go. To think that the brilliant brain surgeon could have survived if only he had got the required brain surgery in time! Not surprisingly fans actually began petitioning for his return but in vain. And show creator Shonda Rhimes has tried to explain why she did what she had to do. "Derek was going to walk out on Meredith and leave her high and dry, and what was that going to mean? That was going to suggest that their love was not true, that the thing we said for 11 years was a lie, and McDreamy wasn’t McDreamy. For me, that was untenable. Meredith and Derek’s love had to remain Meredith and Derek’s love," Rhimes said. Not sure, fans were satisfied with that explanation.

Mary Watson

After a much awaited return of the new Sherlock season, fans were left in shock after John Watson's wife Mary was shot! And surprisingly do not accept that she is actually dead yet. The reality that Mary could just die by swopping in to save Sherlock from being shot while the brilliant detective could do nothing but stand there like a statue seems a tad too difficult to believe. Surely Sherlock wouldn't have allowed his friend who he swore no harm would ever befall while under his watch, to actually die, right? The fact that she is a former spy with an amazing skill set also has fans convinced that there certainly is some masterplan that has not been revealed as yet. Fans have also been intrigued by a picture which Amanda Abbington, who plays Mary, uploaded on social media which sees her wearing a familiar red wig and want to believe that it means that she may have faked her death. Because, Mary can't just die!

The Red Wedding deaths

That George R.R. Martin is sadist is something that everyone has come to agree upon quite early on in the show. It all began with the killing of the noble Ned Stark while his daughter Sansa watched on helplessly. But Martin wasn't done with the Starks yet. Just when you though that the North led by Robb Stark and advised by his mother Catelyn Stark had a good chance at making it to King's Landing and actually winning this battle, a Red Wedding happened and fans watched in horror as

Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark, Talisa Stark, the unborn Stark baby and Grey Wind were all killed. There have been a host of other unwelcomed deaths too, the other horrendous one being the death of the loveable Hodor.
