A jeep driven by a NRI on the Benaulim beach got stuck up in the silvery sands since last night.
While labourers were engaged to remove the sand and facilitate the vehicle to move on the land, the NRI questioned why the authorities have not put up sign boards barring vehicles from entering the beach.
The NRI pointed out that he is ready to pay the necessary fine for driving the vehicle on the beach. He, however, said the problem is not over the payment of fine, but the fact that no help was forthcoming to tow away the vehicle from the beach.
He told the media that he landed on the beach after navigating on Google since there was no sign board installed at the beach barring entry of vehicles. “A board installed at the beach warning entry of vehicles would go a long way in alerting drivers not to drive down on the beach. My car is stuck now. I am ready to pay the fine. Everyone makes mistakes. But the problem is there is no help forthcoming to tow away the vehicle,” he said.
