Parul University launches ‘Lakshya 2047’ centre for future technologies

The centre was inaugurated by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh.

Parul University has launched ‘Lakshya 2047’, a Centre for Global Future Technologies and Skills, aimed at preparing students for emerging technologies and industry demands in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.  

The centre was inaugurated by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh. The initiative has been established in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Ethnotech Academy.  

Lakshya 2047 features an NSDC Lab Ecosystem offering practical learning in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, automation and immersive technologies. The facility includes NVIDIA, Cisco, ABB, AR/VR, ANSYS, Adobe, Autodesk, VLSI, AWS and Apple labs.  

Addressing the gathering, Singh said the initiative was “not only contemporary but also very futuristic”, while stressing the importance of collaboration between government and private sectors in driving national development.  

Parul University President Devanshu Patel said the centre reflects the institution’s vision of creating a future-ready ecosystem combining innovation with ethics.  

NSDC Vice President Nitin Kapoor said the launch marked the first Centre for Future Skills in Gujarat and added that the model was now active across 11 institutions, having trained more than 50,000 candidates.  

The initiative also includes AICTE-supported IDEA Labs, drone training zones, fabrication centres and research facilities to promote innovation-led learning.
