Police arrest 2 persons over bull fight in Colva

The Colva police have arrested two persons under the prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act in connection with the bull fight that took place at Colva on Friday. Acting on a viral video clip through social media platform showing an illegal bull fight occurred on Friday in the open paddy fields at 2nd ward Colva, the police found that the fight was organised between two buffaloes namely "Gulal and Bala" and that the buffaloes are owned by owners namely Mahesh Chavhan, resident of Davondem-Fatorda and Vinay Newton Fernandes, resident of Benaulim. As the act of the culprit was amounting to cruelty to the animals, the police booked the duo under section 11 (m) (n) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act. The duo was later released on bail.
