The administration of South Goa and Kushavati districts has put in place necessary measures to ensure the maintenance of law and order, public safety, and effective crowd management across both districts in view of the upcoming public events during February–March 2026, which are expected to attract large public gatherings.
The Collector and District Magistrate of the two districts, Egna Cleetus, IAS, has further directed the Deputy Collectors and Sub-Divisional Magistrates of both districts to plan, supervise, and monitor all arrangements within their respective jurisdictions in close coordination with the Police Department, Municipal Bodies, Health Services, Fire & Emergency Services, Transport Department, and other concerned line departments.
She said adequate deployment of Executive Magistrates and police personnel will be ensured at major venues, and necessary traffic diversion plans, parking arrangements, and public advisories will be issued in advance in coordination with the Traffic Police.
“Event organisers and stakeholders are required to ensure compliance with applicable noise regulations, safety norms, and structural guidelines for sound systems, DJs, floats, and stages,” she said.
The Collector has also directed that necessary arrangements for medical support, ambulances, fire tenders, and emergency response teams be positioned at major event locations to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the festivities. The District Administration seeks the cooperation of the public in maintaining peace, safety, and harmony during the celebrations, Cleetus added.
