Pernem court building in bad shape

Pernem court building in bad shape
Pieces of the concrete slab have been falling down at the Pernem court building.

The Pernem court building is in a dilapidated condition and has endangered all those using the premises.

Concrete pieces of the slab have begun falling down, while cracks had surfaced at many places in the structure. Moreover, rainwater seeps from the roof during monsoons.

Raising concerns over the condition of the building which was constructed about 35 years ago, residents have demanded an urgent inspection and necessary repairs of the court building by the PWD and other authorities.

Some aggrieved residents have warned that if a major accident occurs in the future, the authorities will be held responsible.

“The plight of the Pernem court building is a matter of serious concern and that the government should immediately repair it and provide relief to everyone using the premises,” said former Pernem Municipal Council chairperson Dr Vasudev Deshprabhu.
