Over two months after the Hyderabad Court granted bail to Hill Top owner John Stephen D’Souza aka Steve in connection with narcotics trade, the Telangana Police arrested him yet again under the stringent Prevention of Illegal Traffic in Narcotics Drugs & Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act.
He is the second Goan, after Curlies owner Edwin Nunes to be booked under the same Act where the minimum imprisonment period is for a year.
Steve, was last arrested on September 21 by Telangana police, from his home village in Anjuna and taken to Hyderabad on following night in order to interrogate him regarding the lethal nexus operated from Goa.
Steve is believed to be the main link even as Goa’s counterparts are expected to arrest more suspects in the case. He was granted bail in October end after over a month in jail.
Further details in the present arrest is awaited.
Sources said that he is likely to challenge his arrest under the PIT NDPS Act.
