MARGAO: Margao police on Wednesday picked up two persons for allegedly cheating people by asking for alms. The incident took place in the city when the duo approached a man and sought alms. When the kind-hearted man showed them the money he had, the accused suddenly grabbed it, put it in his mouth and tried to walk away. The victim immediately raised an alarm, which drew the attention of passers-by. They stopped the accused and forced them to return the money. Margao police later detained the duo for further investigation.
