PANAJI: Air India’s Goa-London (Gatwick) service is scheduled to resume in the Winter Schedule 2025, confirmed Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol in a written reply to MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade in the Rajya Sabha yesterday. He added that the start of direct international flights depends on airlines’ commercial decisions, passenger demand, and route viability.
The service, which began on July 21, 2023, was temporarily suspended in June 2025 due to commercial reasons, including adjustments in Air India’s international route network. This route was among 24 international routes launched since July 2023, of which four were later suspended for commercial considerations.
The suspension had caused inconvenience to the Goan diaspora, especially those working or studying in the UK. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had also raised the matter with the Union Civil Aviation Ministry, emphasising the importance of this direct link for Goans travelling to and from London.
