A person from Pilgao-Bicholim was arrested on charges of abusing Maem MLA Premendra Shet on social media.
Naresh Salelkar from Pilgao is alleged to have abused Shet on social media following an announcement made by Shet as chairperson of the Goa State Horticulture Corporation regarding the provision of cheaper coconuts.
Upset over the abusive comments against Shet, a police complaint was filed against Salelkar. Bicholim Police Inspector Vijay Rane took cognisance of the matter and police arrested Salelkar. He was later released on bail.
