Tawadkar meets President at tribal leaders’ meet in Delhi

Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar has appealed to the Centre to notify Scheduled Tribe areas for the development of the State.
Tawadkar was speaking at the ‘Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan’ in Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi on Monday, where he represented Goa State and met President Droupadi Murmu.
In his address at the gathering, Tawadkar recalled the tribal struggle in Goa and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for ensuring reservation for the ST. He also appealed to the Centre to notify Scheduled Tribe areas for the State’s development.
Organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, a group of eminent tribal individuals from diverse backgrounds and representing various States were present during this special interaction.
The Goa State delegation was led by Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar and comprised Sanvordem MLA Ganesh Gaonkar, BJP South Goa District President Prabhakar Gaonkar, Poinguinim Sarpanch Savita Tawadkar, BJP ST Morcha General Secretary Mohan Gaonkar, BJP ST Morcha Vice President and Tiatr Academy President Anthony Barbosa, and Director of Sports and Youth Affairs Ajay Gaude.
