A peaceful candle light procession has been called on Thursday at the historic Lohia Maidan, Margao to condemn the derogatory statements made by accused Gautam Kattar against St Francis Xavier.
The procession, will start at the Lohia Maidan at 6 pm before culminating at the Margao police station.
Briefing the media at the Lohia Maidan on Wednesday, social activists Pratima Coutinho, Meshoo D’Costa, Anthony D’Silva and Warren Alemao said the procession will be peaceful in nature called to condemn the statement made by Gautam Kattar.
They said the procession will wind up at the Margao police station where the people will seek an update from the police over the police investigations and the steps initiated by the police to arrest accused Kattar.
They have urged people from all walks of life to participate in the peaceful rally.
People from cross section of society had earlier given 48 hour deadline on the police to arrest Kattar before they plan their next course of agitation.
