Chandor meet to push ‘People’s Charter’ on land, environment

The ‘Enough is Enough’ movement will hold a public meeting in Chandor for residents of seven areas in South Goa on January 31 at 4 pm.
The meeting will be addressed by retired Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, Justice Ferdino Rebello.
The public meeting, organised by the local organisation Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott, will be held at the Chandor Club Hall on Saturday, January 31, at 4 pm.
Residents from Sanguem, Curchorem, Macazana, Sao Jose de Areal, Gudi-Paroda, Chandor, and Guirdolim are expected to attend.
Justice Rebello will highlight the 10-point People’s Charter submitted by the movement to the Government of Goa to save the state from the illegal sale of land and the destruction of green Goa.
Other speakers will address local issues such as mega projects, coal pollution, the proposed coal hub, the destruction of wetlands, and heritage villages, stated Sandesh Prabhudesai.
