The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) will accept applications for professional degree programme seats like engineering and medical in Goa from May 7 onwards. The deadline for submitting applications is May 16.
Since, the State government has discontinued with the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) since last year, the admissions for engineering and pharmacy degree seats will take place based on the Joint Entrance Exam JEE(Main)], and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) scores.
While JEE results were out in February-March, around 5,000 students from Goa have answered NEET this year. The NEET examination was held on Sunday across India.
As the NEET exam 2024 was marked with paper leak and irregularities, this year, the examinations were conducted under the supervision of the District Collectors and Superintendent of Police (SP) across all States including Goa.
Application forms can be submitted at the PES Pharmacy College in Farmagudi, the four private engineering colleges at Assagao, Verna, Fatorda, and Shiroda, and at the DTE headquarters in Porvorim.
There are almost 1600 engineering seats available in Goa while there are 200 MBBS seats with Goa Medical College (GMC).
