Panaji: Goa's first charter flight of the 2025–26 season, arriving from Almaty, Kazakhstan, landed at Dabolim Airport on Saturday, marking the start of a promising tourism season. Operated by SCAT Airlines (Flight SCAT VSV5212), the flight touched down at 5.30 am, bringing travellers eager to explore Goa beyond its beaches.

Speaking on the flight’s arrival, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said, “It signifies Goa’s growing international connectivity and appeal as a global destination,” adding that the government is committed to expanding the charter network and diversifying source markets while promoting sustainable tourism.

Tourism Director Kedar Naik added that each new charter flight reinforces Goa’s position as a preferred leisure destination. “We appreciate the efforts of our travel partners in promoting Goa and ensuring smooth airport operations,” he said.

To celebrate the inaugural arrival, the Department of Tourism, in collaboration with Concord Exotic Voyages and TTAG, organised a festive welcome featuring a brass band, garlands, and a cake-cutting ceremony.

The flight marks the beginning of the season, with several international charters expected in the coming weeks.
