A 15-day-old baby girl was brought dead to the South Goa District Hospital.
During the enquiry with the family of the deceased, police said it was revealed that the baby was breastfed by her mother, and after some time, it was noticed that she turned yellowish in colour. Further, the deceased baby was brought to SGDH by her parents, and the doctor on duty declared her dead on arrival.
The post-mortem examination report opined the cause of death was due to aspirational pneumonitis, a condition caused by inhalation of food or liquid into the lungs.
