With the bigwigs yet to turn up to the office of the Returning Officer to file their nomination papers, social worker Pradeep Verlekar has on Saturday filed his papers as Independent for the Davorlim ZP seat reserved for OBC.
While the Congress is yet to finalise its candidate for the Davorlim seat and the ruling BJP zeroing in on party veteran Satyavijay Naik for Davorlim, Pradeep has filed his papers before the Returning Officer.
Felicitated by organisations for his helping hand during the Covid pandemic, Pradeep said he enjoys the support of cross section of society irrespective of political affiliations. “My social work will keep me in good stead in the coming polls,” Pradeep told the media.
Outlining his plans for Davorlim, comprising of the villages of Davorlim, Rumdamol and Aquem-Baixo, Pradeep said he would work for a better garbage free, clean and green Davorlim with best of roads, clean water and bright electricity.
