Canacona police on Saturday registered an FIR against six unknown persons, 11 days after an attempted burglary was foiled at a jewellery shop in Chaudi-Canacona.
The FIR states that the six unknown accused had attempted to commit theft at the S M Jewellery shop at Chaudi market in Canacona at about 2.30 am on November 25. The burglary had been foiled after the arrival of a police team, after being alerted by the jewellery store owner who resides adjacent to the store.
The accused are further accused of pelting stones on a police team, before managing to flee from the site. Canacona police registered an FIR under Sections 312, 132 of BNS and further investigation is being conducted by Canacona PSI Ajit Velip.
Incidentally, many residents in Canacona have criticised the police for their failure to nab the accused who managed to flee after pelting stones at a police team.
