PY Nuvem reach semifinals

Parish Youth Nuvem stormed into the semi-finals of the Parish Youth Nuvem Cup 2025 after registering a convincing 3-1 victory over United Club of Verna at the Verna ground on Saturday. United Club of Verna drew first blood through Clive Fernandes, who found the net as early as the 4th minute. However, Parish Youth Nuvem bounced back strongly, with Royston Mascarenhas equalising in the 45th minute, followed by Joywin Costa scoring soon after in the 47th minute to give Nuvem the lead. Francis Colaco sealed the win with the third goal in the 59th minute to complete the turnaround and ensure Parish Youth Nuvem’s passage into the last four. Francis Colaco of Parish Youth Nuvem was later adjudged the Man of the Match and received the award from Pedro Fernandes.

GFA advisory for Super Cup final
MARGAO: The Goa Football Association has issued an advisory detailing entry and seating arrangements for spectators attending the Super Cup final at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda. As per the advisory, East Bengal supporters have been asked to enter the stadium through Gate 4, while FC Goa supporters will be allowed entry through Gate 6. The association also said that, for security reasons, items such as bags, banners, lighters, helmets and similar objects will not be permitted inside the stadium premises. Spectators have been advised to arrive early to ensure smooth entry and are urged to cooperate with the security personnel deployed at the venue.

Goa University beach volleyball runners-up
PANAJI: Goa University’s men’s beach volleyball team finished runners-up at the Khelo India University Games 2024-25, held in Rajasthan recently. The Goa University team opened their league campaign with a 2-1 victory over SRM IST, Chennai, but suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to the University of Madras, Chennai, in their second match. Needing a win to qualify for the knockout stage, Goa University registered a convincing 2-0 victory over Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore, to finish second in their group. In the semi-finals, Goa University posted an easy 2-0 win against Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, Coimbatore, to book their place in the final. However, in the title clash, they went down 0-2 to SRM IST, Chennai, and had to settle for the runners-up position.
